Terms and Conditions
We want you to have a great experience learning to drive with Wheels Driving School. Therefore, it's important we keep our Ts and Cs straight forward and clear, so any driving lessons are subject to the following Ts and Cs.
Lesson Booking, Payment, Cancellations & No Shows
-
Lessons cancelled with 48 hours notice or less are chargeable.
-
Payment for driving lessons is due 48 hours before the driving lesson if you are paying by bank transfer or payment is due on the day, before the driving lesson begins if you pay by cash.
-
Please be punctual for your lessons. If no contact can be made with you, and your lesson start time is between 09:00 and 17:00, we will wait for up to 15 minutes before we leave the pick up place, and no refund will be given. If your lesson start time is outside of these times, we will wait for up to 10 minutes. If you are late, the lesson will still finish at the appointed time and no partial refund will be given. If we are late, your lesson will run for the full time. We cannot be held responsible for being late for any unforeseen or unexpected reason (such as an accident or heavy traffic).
-
If you are booking lessons on behalf of someone else, please note that the instructor and Wheels Driving School cannot discuss any matters relating to the lessons (including attendance or progress) once the lessons are due to start without permission of the pupil.
-
Wheels Driving School and your instructor do not accept any responsibility for any lessons cancelled/postponed due to mechanical breakdown, instructor illness, driving tests or pre-booked holidays. In these situations, your instructor will carry your lesson credit over to your next lesson.
Road & Vehicle Safety
-
You must produce your driving licence when you meet your instructor for the first time and your driver number, and validity dates will be recorded. We also reserve the right to conduct a licence check with the DVLA. If you cannot produce an in-date licence on your first lesson, or it transpires that you do not hold a valid licence, it will not go ahead and you will be charged.
-
Your instructor reserves the right to withdraw their vehicle from a lesson or a driving test at any time (sadly, this includes just before your test) without notice if they identify there to be a safety concern. If it transpires that you are, or may be unfit to drive through drink or drugs (or any other substance that does, or could, impair your driving), your driving lesson/test will be terminated immediately, as will all future lessons, without refund.
-
You must be able to meet the minimum eyesight standards for driving. We will check this at the start of your first lesson with us. If you cannot meet this standard, unfortunately we will cancel your lesson and you will be charged.
-
If you are driving in a deliberately dangerous or malicious manner (whether on a lesson or test), whether damage to the tuition vehicle is caused or not, your instructor/examiner can reserve the right to terminate the lesson/test.
-
Your instructor can refuse use of the driving school car for your driving test if your instructor is concerned you are not ready and safe enough for the DVSA driving test. Wheels Driving School will normally ask each student to undertake two mock driving tests with the student’s driving instructor and one further mock driving test with another Wheels driving instructor, if these mock driving tests do not reach the required standard, the instructor can withdraw use of the school driving car.
Your Instructor
-
Treat our instructors with courtesy. Verbal or physical abuse towards our instructors will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to immediately terminate your current and future lessons with us if this occurs, with no refunds given.
-
Your instructor will be a self-employed independent instructor, with permission to use the Wheels Driving School branding. Wheels Driving School will pass your details onto one of these instructors, and any lessons or bookings made will be with them directly. Any payments made and refunds due will be made to/from your instructor.
